OK so about two months ago I lost what I thought was a pretty good gig going with a small company out in my area. Well the owner couldn't keep his **** together and lost all his work. So there I was out of a job again. Well I sent out a buttload of resume's and got a nibble on one. It was for a commercial cabinet company out of STL. I got a call on a Mon. and went in for the interview that afternoon. Only problem was I had to cross a picket line...
Well come to find out the carpenters contract ran out and the company wanted to lower the wages a little to compete with other companies in the tougher times. The carpenters didn't like tthat and decided to go on stricke. I said I would cross thinking even if it was only for a little while I would get a little money and anything was better than what I was making at the time.
I have been there 3 weeks now and one of the owners put me in a managment position taking care of one of there MAJOR clients. I am actually doing nothing I was doing before in const. and am actually enjoying what I do now. Anyway the owner asked last week if I would be interested in doing this full time even if the guys come off strike. Of course I jumped at the opprotunity. But was concerned about the guy who was doing the job before me. The owner said I have done more in the 3 weeks I have been there then this guy does in 3 months! LOL So I have a good job and will be in the Union again once all this matter gets straightened out. cool cool.
Then I was working on the motor yesterday to try and get her put in and got a message on LightningRodder.com from one of the guys out of KC to see if I needed a hand still. I said sure who and am I to turn down help right?! He left last night a like 4pm and drove here, got here about 8 and we worked on the motor till about 1 this am and got it in. He crashed here last night and we got up this morning and buttoned her up. COOL now all I am waiting on is my 60# injectors to show up with my new fuel rails and she will be ready to fire. I told him about this website and hopefully he can come on here and check it out.
Anyway that is where I have been and what I have been up to. Been pretty busy since I work from 8-1630 then drive an hour home and try to get some stuff done around the house before it gets dark. whew.
