Truck hibernation

If you are storing your truck for the winter (or just not driving it for months at a time) it is good when you warm it up to also run it through the gears (automatic) to keep the fluid and gears lubricated. In addition, I run the AC and the heat to keep the motors exercised and the compressor seals lubricated. Before Burt got his new digs I also moved him at least 5-10' to avoid flat spots on the tires and uneven wear on the wheel bearings.
Just my experiences and what I have done.

I think I will put my old tires/wheels on this year since my truck will sit from October to April most likely. Also, Pull the battery, change the oil, stabil in the fuel, wash and cover.

So, when you say run it through the gears, you mean, keeping it parked and just shifting it with the break on, right? Good idea on that and the AC compressor.

Ken is it true that Maine passed a law that says women don't have to ware tops ?
And what about them hibernating ?

No laws were passed, there was just no law against being topless regardless of gender. It was different than the indecent exposure laws which were only exposed male and female genitals which didn't include breasts! So, a few liberal women wanted to make a point for women's equal rights and walk around downtown topless. They said if men could mow their lawns without a shirt and ride bikes without a shirt, so can we. Dumbasses! :lame: They made it worse for themselves. They looked horrible and got more heck from local women than some of the conservative men. They could have at least been super hot, but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, we're talking additional luggage on the front that fell to their knees and in some you couldn't tell the back from the front 'wtf'

Oh yeah, I was also told by a great ford fanatic friend of mine (after asking him about putting my rig up on jacks), he said he never does and hasn't had a problem with flat spots if the tread is good. He said if there was a fire, he wants to be able to drive his vehicles out (or through) the garage to keep them from being burned and destroyed. Good point!

Ain't that how it always goes...it's the ugly b1tches always causing problems. Beauty may only be skin deep, but ugly is straight to the bone.

That was my perspective as well...not to mention, I've never encountered flat spotting with radials...just bias plies. Sometimes after Red would sit for a few months during the winter, the first day out, it would feel like I was riding on square tires. But that always smoothed out after about 5-10 miles.
