trouble with starting

I have a 92 f150...5.0 fuel injected. Truck just shut off and wont start...will crank over, got all lights and stuff but i dont have spark and the fuel pump does not kick on when i first turn the key to run position. Went through everything i could think of.....Help! Please!

Has the truck been running for a while prior to it shutting off and not starting again? Does the truck have long tube headers

look into the fuel pump not priming.......

truck was running that day and started up and made it half a block when it died....never had trouble with it before this. No to the long tube headers...just factory.

ok i was going to say if it was after a long run and you had headers your starter is heating up, my old bronco would do the same thing. Yea now i would check the fuel pump

i checked the fuel pump by jumping ht fuel pump test terminal and the pump comes on.....

You first need to check the no-brainer stuff first.........fuses. You have 2 relays in particular, the power relay, and the fuel pump relay. You have an inertia switch under the dash (either by the driveshaft hump on the pass side, or the right side kick panel).

If the fuel pump isn't priming when you turn the key to on then I'm almost sure your problem is right there. Does it have dual tanks? If so, switch to the other tank and see if it fires up (each tank has it's own pump). This happened to me on my old 94 and the tow truck driver came all the way out and just flipped the switch for me -- felt so stupid

You say you jumped the fuel pump test terminal? Is that located AT the pump? Becuase you could have a break in your circuit further forward. I think I've got an electrical schematic in my photobucket somewhere, I'll look around.

Have tried switching tanks and no luck.i tested the pump at the DLC connector and it comes on.....still don't know why am getting no spark to.
