LEB Ben
Arrogant A-hole At-Large
I stopped for a full 30 seconds on my way out to the new truck the first morning I had it, debating whether or not to put my coffee cup back in the kitchen.
I didn't. Coffee and driving go together in my world, and I'll live with the stained carpet if that's what it takes (though I do try to avoid it).
But see...that's where my whole distracted driving thing comes in to play again for me. So I don't just have a hard on for cell phones while driving. You're driving a bullet...all it takes is a 'I spilled my coffee and hit the guy on the moped'...'I looked down for a second to grab my bagel and then I hit the kid crossing the street to go to school' etc. Don't you find it ironic, every time something bad happens everyone says the same thing 'oh, I looked down/turned my back/etc. for just a second'...well I guess that's all the time it takes for tragedy to strike. I'm not saying I'm a perfect driver, and that I don't break my own rules some times, but why enhance the risk. If you're the only one that is going to bear the consequences fine, everyone has their own choices to make...but rarely are you the only car/person on the road, and when you enter in to someone else's world, your choice is no longer only your choice. You're driving a 2 ton bullet...driving should be regarded in the same fashion as handling a firearm.
