transmission fluid procedure

Rebuilt C6 transmission and new converter, do I just put in the fluid make sure it is in park and crank the motor or is there a better way to do it. All the ones I have changed still had fluid in the converter. thanks

Put a few quarts in before starting it, then it will pump it into the converter on its own. That way it isn't starting dry. I forget how many a total fill is on those. Probably should be safe with a 4 quart prime.

By all rights the convertor should have had a quart dumped in it. A c-6 should take 11 to 13 quarts depending on whether its 2wd or 4wd. That`s from a dry fill.
