Did I miss something or is that missing a transfer case...haha.

This one's not bad, except for the 390 that's not supposed to be there. 400, it's all you need smilieFordlogo!

I never understood that...why go through the trouble of swapping in a 390...you can expect basically the performance in stock form. I figure it would be more trouble than it's worth than just finding another 400...which is normally pretty cheap.

I need to get a pic on here of a local truck that I've seen since I was a kid. It's a 73-75 F250 crewcab 4x4 dually that someone apparently made. Knowing what I know now someone put some thought into it. I'll snap a pic tomorrow.

Oh man...that would be awesome. I almost bought a truck like that 3-4 years ago, but it was a regular cab. It was a farm truck and had all the pumps and tanks and sprayers on the flat bed. I didn't want that stuff and figured it was a good 2-3 grand worth of stuff...the guy didn't wanna separate it...so it put it outta my price range. It was a seriously bad azz lookin truck though.

Hey Ben,
I really LOVE that 78 from "our favorite seller". It just amazes me how he gets these so often! It also is interesting that they almost always get 17 bids and are at $4,445 right after he posts them.... hmmmmmm... Is that someone's gum in the ashtray? Eewww!!! :D Anyway, I would buy it in a second for that price, though I would switch out the grill from a 73,4,5,6,77, as I like them better.

Yeah...that'll be a question for the ages. I can't believe he's constantly on the road finding these things...I mean there are obvious fluff up jobs. I also can't believe ONLY his trucks are demanding this kind of premium...I mean look at other trucks listed in similar shape...they might get half price that guy gets. And you're right, how does he always have soooooo many bidders so early no less, and why does he always close the auction early.

dunno, but I would still like that 78 "fluff up job"!

I drove my truck to work again today, using the AC. I just love driving him, and it's so nice not to have to worry about him overheating or anything anymore! I also got another quote on paint.... $8,000 :drop:

Heck for that you can learn to paint it yourself

Ya know SuperSnake, that's not a bad idea! Actually, a buddy of mine has a friend that does paint on classics in his own shop and I'll be talking to him later this summer. I'm going to be doing most of the pre-prep (taking off the trim, door panels, dash, carpet, etc. and he apparently will let me work with him in the body shop for paint prep to also save more $. There is no way I am spending $8,000. My first bid from another reputable shop was $6,000 plus whatever he found once it was stripped. We will see...
Ok, back to the dents we find! I'm going to look for some right now..

I'm doing the same. I am learning to do everything myself. I have a great friend who will be guiding me on how to do repairs to the body of my truck and then I will paint it. I plan to get some junk body parts to practice on so i don't mess my truck up.

Yeah, I've never been a fan of the black painted grills that some folks do. It not only takes away from the looks, but from a distance it looks like there is NO grill.
Dak

I agree and I don't care for that monochromatic look where everything is painted. I am keeping my chrome bumper

The first and third one are high... I could live with the second one which you showed in the post before your last one.

This one is actually on my home to the mountain house. I just might stop by tonite to look for giggles. Looks ok from the single picture, but he will never get this price around here!!

Dak

He wouldn't get that price around here either...that's a $3500 truck tops...and I agree, I hate the black grilles.

Here is one for Ben... Not a dent though...

Dak

I like it...get it around $2200 and it's a good deal.

Here is a good start for a 4X4 $1,000 is a good price, but I bet he would go lower...Said "it ran when it was parked", but how long ago!!?

http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/1148789530.html

Dak

That would be a good $500 parts truck.

We have dents around here all the time! Here are a couple more. The utility 4X4 is about 5 minutes from my house in the mountains..
