tailgate cap/guard?

I'm looking for a nice stainless steel tailgate cap for my flareside. Can only find some for fullsize '80 -'86 Ford trucks. Am thinking of ordering one of the fullsize for the flareside. What's the difference? I know the width of the box, thus length of the cap is a couple feet shorter. May have to cut the extra feet from the ends. Is there another issue?

The flare side On the 87 down top of tailgate r Shaped different . But check the length can be cut

Its getting hard to find any stainless stuff . Bed caps etc . For 96 down

Larry, I do remember the top of the tailgate on the flareside is round, like a half circle, while other tailgates r square.

Mike, many thanks for the link. That was it. I remeber seeing it in the LMC catalogue which is back home in London. It's not too expensive and already shaped for a flareside, I'll be getting tat one when I get home.
