A hand held steamer works pretty good to form that carpet. I had to do that with mine and it turned out pretty good (except the problem of also being too short on the sides. An dang that looks good in there.
 
Exactly, Buck- used to use one that I picked up in a pawn shop. Guess I didn't suggest it because it's such a rarity, LOL

Glad to have helped- We used to use that technique in the 70's on custom cars and *ahem* Vans (oh I can hear the ol' squirrels a-chattering now!)
 
Just to update this thread a little. I just installed the new carpet in my 78 F250 4x4 Regular Cab C6. It is from ACC (isn't all of it). Used the "mass back" option Fit nearly perfectly. Maybe 1/2 inch narrow at the kick panels. A little long under the dash, but will trim it slightly. Looks really good! I have pics if anyone is interested
