Steering shaft

Why is the steering shaft that goes between the steering column and gear box almost $300.Is there a cheaper why to fix the U joints in it?Mine is getting a little loose.Thanks Tony

Does yours actually have u joints or just rag joints?

And yes, either way they should be replaceable AFAIK

Mine has small u joints in them.I dont see any rag joint.

If the U joints are loose than it's time for a new shafts. i know they are expensive, but I'd suggest getting a new shaft from Borgeson. You won't be disappointed and they are much better than a stock replacement. When it comes to steering safety, that's one thing I would spend the cash on.
