Steering Column Swap?

I have a 93 F-150 (5.8/E4OD) that I would like to swap out the complete steering column with a complete column out of a 2002 F-250 that I have. I want the cruise controls in the 2002 wheel to complete a cruise control add-on for my 93. Will this 2002 column interchange with my 93?

I dont have any experience with a swap like this. They are very different trucks, and different columns. It could work but it would probably be difficult. Is the 93 equipped with an airbag?

I really don't have any info on a swap like this. But I have to ask why you want to pull parts out of a newer truck and put them in an older truck? Is the 2002 F-250 a write off or something?

IMO I dont think it will work, and like Raptor22 said, they are very different trucks, and are probably built and wired differently.

Surely one of the guys here will have the info your looking for.

I think he said something about how the newer truck has cruise and his doesnt, or something. I dunno.

Sounds like it'd be pretty hard to make that work-- and even if you COULD make it work, the wiring would be a nightmare. You're much better off swapping a gen-9 column to a gen-9 truck. I wouldnt be surprised if the technologies have changed quite a bit too, which might make it completely incompatible.

My 93 has an airbag. I got the 2002 column with some salvage parts I bought from a totaled 2002 F-250. I have the under hood cruise control parts from a 95 F-150 and wanted to use this 02 column since I had it laying around. I can figure out the wiring, but don't know if it will physically swap with the 93.

Sorry man I don't think you they will swap, two very different Animals.
You can how ever upgrade your steering wheel and run the wires in side the column..

It sounds like it might be a little to much work and I don't think the steering wheel will work.
Let me look in to it a little.
Or have you thought about just getting a steering wheel from the same year of truck

Maybe I should tuck this 2002 column under my arm and stroll down to my local salvage yard to do some trading. Thanks for your comments.
