Yeah...I got a new one over the summer for the Bronco...just because I'm really not too fond of buying used engine parts...and you're right, it is sad that a new eddy from summit is almost cheaper than used ones on ebay...and $100 cheaper than new ones from the ebay stores.

I might have a line on some 302C Aussie heads should be interesting on a 400. I guess I will need to find a bellhousing from a 460 to use with my 3 in the tree

I'd say that's a better spring break than going to some beach somewhere. You sure did get a lot done on your rigs. So when you were finished, did your "To-do" list get smaller, bigger, or stay the same. Sometimes when you start working on things again, it's gets the mind turning and ideas happen to pop in so the list that was once getting smaller suddenly is much longer.

AFA the deal on the tires.......nice score. That is a killer of a deal.

Yeah Buck...I gotta agree...waaaaaaay better than some beach. As for the to-do list, it got waaaaaaaaaay smaller on the Bronco...just gotta get around to pulling that engine and putting the goodies in it, eventually fix the couple rust bubbles it has and get a better paint job...then the things bugging me will be done. Then the wants are on board air, axle swap and selectable lockers...then she'll be done. As ofr Red's to-do list...it stayed pretty much the same, but the only things I'll have left on her are things I didn't do during the first restore...ie serious engine build, and get the trim back on...and she'll probably get another coat of paint when that happens. Then it'll just be little things, axle rebuilds, GV OD unit...and then she'll officially be done for good.

Good to hear you've made some serious progress on Red and the Bronco.

That GV OD unit is definitely on my future to-do list. I think it will make a huge difference driving down the interstate. Unless I can get a heck of a deal on an E40D tranny or something, I'll keep the GV OD unit in the back of my mind.

I'm not sure how an E40D tranny would fit though. Those things are huge. The computer to get them to work is about $500 so I'd have to get a good tranny for $1000 or less for me to go that route. Even though the GV unit is around $3000 for our trucks, it's a much easier swap and they are supposed to be bullet proof.

Yeah I've checked out the E4OD route for a other guys before...and as you said, the stand alone computer is at least $500, and the tranny, for a good one at least is gonna run no less than $1000. However, I feel the C6 and GV OD is bullet proof, and the E4OD is weaker and more of a hassle...On top of that, a good C6 rebuild runs $800 and an E4OD rebuild will run you an easy $1200. So it really just depends, do you wanna pay more up front, or more later...and I feel the C6 combo is a stronger unit.

I also think that about the C6. They can hold up against almost anything, so like I said, I'd have to get a killer deal on an E4OD to go that route if ever.
