speedometer woes

Ouch...I didn't like that story Buck...cuz eventually, Red's will need replacing and that gear will be even tougher to find.

Id just get a full bearin and seal kit and rebuild the thing so ya dont have to tear into it again when another bearin goes.

It might not hurt calling some dealers. I believe the Ford # is D3TZ17285A.
I checked with Green sales and they didn't have any. I think the transfer cases also had an 8 tooth gear, but not sure. That one also is becoming obsolete. I never did check to see if a GM or Dodge gear would interchange.

Yeah, I'm replacing the outer bearing and seal. The inner ones I'm not going to mess with because they are more of a pain. My old outer bearing doesn't seem to be too bad, but I'm replacing anyway.

Thats what mine started out as and was pretty easy for the most part with the exception of the stupid roller bearins.
