With aftermarket speedometer gauge do you still use speedometer cable from transmission
IE 1972 c6

Most are electronic. You use a halls effect sender. There should be a description of what you need as far as an adapter, and sender with the gauge

Just to add to the above response, there is also a GPS unit available to run aftermarket speedometers now. I got mine at Speedway, it has worked well for 248k miles now, though it does loose signal anywhere a normal GPS does. Just a thought.
