Speed control...last time...probably

So I pulled the trigger on what looks like a pretty complete speed control set up. The guy pulled it out of 79 Bronco, was usable 3 months ago...decided to part out the truck because of rot. He pulled the pieces and shipped for $50...figured it was worth it. Got a tilt column from the same Bronco. I'm going to try to put it in Red. I'm not sure how the harness arrangement will work out yet going from a 79 to 77...but I guess ill find out. I know the booster won't be right, and subsequently...the brake pedal. But as far as the pieces are concerned...do you guys see anything major missing??? Any major complications I'll have to figure out...or that you may have an answer to???

Did you get the short piece of speedo cable from the sensor to the cluster?

And on the long end of the cable - would the Bronco have the same length from the sensor to the transfer case as the 77, and will you have the hookup on the transfer case of the '77? Just thinking out loud.

Not sure about the bracket...have the chain. I've got the canister mount. Brake switch...crap...I don't have it, and don't know if he pulled it.

Short piece should be coming...I have absolutely no idea about the test.

^^^Because I'm not sure how all those part names correlate to the hard pieces. Showing my ignorance here Dennis. I have no idea what the cruise control module or the shut off switch looks like or is supposed to look like. Never had speed control or even seen a system. I have a general idea from schematics posted and what guys have told me, but that doesn't mean I'm not overlooking something. But more importantly, I'm concerned with the 79 to 77 swap. And you in particular said the swap can be done, but I'm sure there are differences with the harness hook up, and I'm interested in what they are...going from a non-tilt, non-speed control 77 to this 79 set up.

I checked the arts book last night.

You are best getting the non electric related parts from a 75-77

The steering wheel / horn pad are considered one item although they obviously have separate part numbers.

There isn't any listing for speed control on a 4x4 but that can be overturned.

The S/C module is fastened to the inside firewall and is the hub of electrical part of the system.
I can provide illustrations if requested.

The two arced connectors plug right in to your steering column connectors
The speedo cable sensor cable plugs into the harness
The servo has to be for the engine it is for ....as the threaded hole are in different spots per engine.
The booster has to match the brake pedal/assembly ..as the cage style shut off switch has to be actuated with the movement of the pedal nub inside the switch.

If you had Skype I could walk you thru this ........with the same parts in my hand.
Would you like a ford parts number list for all these parts?
