some time it"s worth the price

good day, just sharing a bit of info i found out the hard way regurding cheaper"off shore "rubber parts for my s/c restro. i ordered all new parts for the doors windows ect and had to replace the "door anti rattlers" and the"cowl laceing" with dennis carpenter peices as the steel used for the clips to fasten these parts seem "too soft" and bent when trying to install the pass side was the one that screwed up and now that the good parts are there i may replace the drivers side as well as you can tell the difference [window seems very stiff to roll up and down] like the part is too thick and the cowl laceing is soft rubber rather than hard plastic that wont straighten out the windsheild and rear window seal worked but then again a harder material regurds joe

I have to agree with most parts especially rubber parts. I used the D.C stuff for my doors and was really happy with it. Windows roll up and down just fine and just stiff enough that they don't rattle.

I"m not a fan of "Taiwanese" parts either. When I ordered all the weatherstripping for my 78 Crew (came from BOTP or BG, can't remember unless I look it up), the kit was manufactured by Precision, made in Taiwan. Dooohhh!! :( I have not used anything yet (truck is still at the painter). From everyone's experiences on fitment of rubber parts, should I not use these and buy from DC (i've already spent my fair share of $$$ there)?? Is DC weatherstripping that much better? Anybody have some pics of certain part, import vs DC? I'd spend the money if it's worth it but some of the latest trim parts I"v bought from DC are also made in China or Taiwan. I've heard they are out sorcing more parts all the time rather than being made in good ol USA. Any insight is appreciated! Thanks
BTW - Buck that truck is lookin nice!!!

Bucks, did you order or try the Taiwanese weatherstripping before going the DC route or did you just bite the bullet up front and buy only DC w'stripping? Would like to hear if there was significant differences if you bought both.
Thanks,
Eric

Oh, man. I just ordered all new weather stripping and window seals from LMC...I hope they don't have problems like that.

I must have had a serious brain fart that day...I got my weatherstripping from NPD, not LMC.

I got the entire cab kit...I went ahead and purchased a new rear sliding window to install while I'm doing the job.

What's the opinion on the NPD weatherstripping?
