smoke possible fire

went out to get my truck out of the driveway and to the shop. didn't want to stay running and was missing again. kept firing up would shut off and started it up kept it running a little bit and smoke just started pouring out from under the hood ripped the hood open and there was smoke pouring out of the air cleaning got that off and it was white smoke out of the carb and a little bit out of the exhaust leak. what is that?

first time is has done that. let it sit for a minute started it drove 10 feet it stalled so i tried again and it fired up and wasn't knocking or anything and had no troubling going to the shop

is it a bad thing or could it just be the carb? thats the only thing i have left to do to it other than lifters

Sometimes they do that when they stall/backfire out the carb...not sure why...but its happend to me numerous times. I dont think its harmful.

Just advice...if a fire does start in the carb crank the motor...the engine vaccum will extiguish it.
