2000 ranger with 3.0, auto 4x4. motor trouble and I am thinking of a used motor. truck is flex fuel. What year will interchange? Does the other motor have to be flex fuel? Will any a car or minivan motor work? Thanks

There are a number of things different between FWD and RWD motors that I don't outright know if there is a swap or not. I do know you would have to at minimum swap the intake and likely oil pan to start with. For flex, the fuel system is mostly what is different, might be a little bit of internals if the compression is higher.
