Ken...this is what I'm talking about (compliments of JoeM in the dentside thread):

http://mankato.craigslist.org/cto/3679059446.html

5k for that truck is a good deal all day long. Outside of you not liking brown...tell me what's not to like about that truck??? Maybe it's just my area (so start searching this state)...but I see those trucks all day long.

Ben, this one's ok too....I'd like a small lift like Red or my 77 that way I it can sit on 36 or 37's. Of course the paint.....but I suspect if we opened the hood on this baby, it will show a ton of wear cause it's a driver.......I know it'll be tough to find engine bay's like mine, but like some of the other rigs that have been close in my opinion, the bays are a little dressed up and the under carriages are pretty clean......there's very little pictures of this rig, but also suspect the underneath to look like it's been driven; surface rust, pits, oil, etc.

Smells like a scam, eh?

Here's the email I got back after I emailed him with the second chance offer from ebay:

Thank you for the reply. According with eBay you can buy my truck for your last bid: $4,500.00. The "winner" on eBay, after speaking on the phone waiting for him all day long comes up and wants a straight swap. If that wasn't enough the bugger almost made me lose my flight. Must tell you i'm in Europe with business for the next 6 weeks but this is not a problem because i have the truck in a shipping company custody and they will take care of delivery (i offer free shipping within 800 miles area). However, before any delivery can be done I want to be sure that we do this transaction in the safest mode possible for both of us using eBay because they offer the highest rate of safety and reliability during online transactions. Needless to remind you that I am a professional seller with exquisite 100% positive feedback, so I offer and expect 100% seriousness (take a look over my feedback on eBay). Using eBay you will get 3 days to inspect the truck (after it's delivered) before paying me and I'll be sure that I have a genuine buyer with funds ready who won't mess me around. You'll get the chance to inspect the vehicle, test it and everything you like while your money are safely held in eBay's account. ONLY after you confirm with eBay that you agree to keep the truck, they'll release the money to me. In case you don't like it you get a full refund. If you have the funds ready email me back to confirm and i will register the transaction with eBay. Once the transaction is registered, eBay will contact you with ALL the info regarding shipping, purchase protection, and refund policy (no obligation to buy and no fees involved if you won't accept the transaction's terms). You mean that's been on ebay a couple times and turns out to be a scam ? It's got to be the 2nd chance letter not the original sale on ebay.

I googled Automotive Management Resources Inc. and its a "closed" company in NC.
Isn't "bugger" an Australian term ?

Free shipping within 800 miles ? whew that $1000 right there.

That whole "I'm in Europe for six weeks" thing smells bad to me. It's way too reminiscent of those scam emails where they're asking you to help them move their imitation crab meat fortune into an account from Nigeria or some such crap. Pass!

Nice! Very Nice! No shroud on the fan, though. I'd be willing to bet the cruise doesn't work, just because the chain between the servo and the carburetor is too loose. Easy fix. I got money off on mine because the cruise didn't work. :D

^^ Didn't notice that. I did see some lines going into the bed side tool box from underneath. I wonder what those are.
It's got aftermarket A/C, no big deal.
Missing bolt covers on shoulder belt .

A wee bit over budget but what about this one Ken .... not to sure about the flames but at least they don't leap out and grab ya by the short and curlies

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/3706329075.html

Very nice.....a little flashy, but don't think it's over done or anything....a tad bit over budget.

-no engine picks.....lots of times, I've noticed anyways, people will focus on the exterior and not spend as much time on the interior or engine bay. $8500 in paint doesn't leave much room in the budget for engine work, but you never know. He did say he has $28k into it.

-no underneath pics......this is where we can see oil leaks and surface rust and lift issues.

-if there's a steering wheel knob, I'd bet a million dollars to a donut hole there's no power steering....a must for me and the family.

-it's standard and we need an automatic.

-can't tell if it has ac, the vents are there, but no pics under the hood.

-a cobra emblem?

-also, I don't think I'd have been brave enough to punch holes all throughout the bed for the tonneau cover. why not spring the extra couple hundred and get a nice fiberglass or even one like mine which is vinyl on an aluminum frame.

It looks close though.......this person put some time and energy into this one.....his ad does say best offer. If it was automatic, had AC and the bay and underneath were good, I'd probably offer 9-10k right now.

^^ He's got a revolver wheel as a steering wheel knob.
