Road Wheel Bolt Pattern

I realize I am in the wrong forum for my 1976 F350, but I think I am in the right forum for this question. I would like to replace my wheels with the newer Ford wheels, but it looks to me like they changed the bolt pattern at some time since 1976. Can someone educate me on the change, new circle size vs old, what year they did this, and options for using the newer wheels in my case? Thanks.

Ford changed the pattern in '98 to an 8x170mm vs the older 8x6.5".

Dodge and Chevrolet still use the 8x6.5 but you have to watch the backspacing on some of the wheels and the centers tend to be smaller on the o.e.m Chevrolet wheels.
