Ya know- I'm actually trying to remember when the last time was I used a key to unlock any of our vehicles. If not the remote, then the PIN pad on the door.

I already know the first time Ian's going to change his thinking on that FOB. The first time he bends/breaks the key in a frozen lock when it's about 0 outside.

I'm surprised he hasn't already had that problem with his other truck, to be honest...

Just wanted to see if someone would test that theory.

I do know from first hand experience that peeing on frozen hubs will free them up enough to rotate.

You do realize I've been opening doors with keys for a few years now, right? Including quite a number of 0 degree days. I've never bent/broken a key yet. Can't remember either of my parents ever breaking one, either, and Dad makes me look like a regular technology-lover when it comes to this stuff.

(Meaning that if I even if I DO bust a key on this thing, I'll be blaming the truck, not the method for opening the door.)

nahh they can always program more if needed.. least with the older ones all they did was plug in their scan tools and had the computers flash the chips on the keys.. least that was the way they explained it to me.. but they also said they couldnt program more than 2.. never said why they couldnt though... i do know thats how they do the fobs though.. the get the car talking to them with their scan tools.. i took auto shop in hs and reprogrammed the fobs on my buick that way... but they never talked about the pats stuff then...

but dunno you could be right on the keys.. i just know my neighbor lost one of hers and they programed her a new one without her having to buy a whole new set..

You need to have 2 keys programed to the car to make it start, then you can program more keys to the car if you like sometimes up to 8 keys total. Programing the first 2 keys requires the scan tool the rest you can do yourself. (usually)

I understand the whole keychain issue also. I don't like a bunch of crap in my pocket. I don't even carry a wallet. license, atm card cash, that's it. My key chain is my key fob, vehicle key and house key.
