Yeah...I grew up in a house that by today's standards would be considered mental, physical and emotional abuse...I just called it discipline. As I'm sure most of us did. There weren't too many frills and whatnot around my house cuz we were broke and had no time to be 'soft' until just recently. But the house still has a no BS policy.

My house was basically the same, kids played out side. We ate dinner at the table. Being yelled at or having your A$$ beat when you screwed up was to be expected. Dad did buy us a nintendo but we were only allowed to play it when it was dark out or if the weather was bad....

My brother was on the other side of the line where he was allowed in more, i was too, but i was taught when i was younger that being out side and playing as boys should is the way it will be.

Those are the good ole days man........now, people are so up their own arses that you'd get in trouble for that kind of parenting......call it what you will, but I became a good person because of gettin my arse whooped.

That's the dang truth.....little bit a asswhoopin would take care of that right quick. Drive's me nuts these people that think they're better than you because they drive something nicer or newer...... Excuse me? i worked for everything I've got....it may not be a whole hellova lot but it's mine and it's paid for.
