Rear brake and rear turn light issue

I'd like to say hello first of all I'm new to these forums and i hope i could get some help. I have a 79 f150 shortbed and my rear left turn signal light and brake light do not work. This is the same when my headlights are on or off. The rear left parking light does work so I know the bulb works but when i press on the breaks or switch my left turn signal my tailight stays the same, every other light on the truck works just not those two. I'm not really sure what the problem is can anyone help me?

taillight issues are a common issue check/clean grounds....give that socket a good look over for corrosion, replace it if necessary...

^^^^^ I agree. Most of lighting issues on these trucks come from bad grounds/corrosion. Even if a connection looks "OK", clean it anyway. I'd also check the bulb. It could be that the filament for the brake light/turn signal is burnt, but not for the parking light.

You can test wiring by working backwards from the tail-light.

Bulb filaments
Bulb socket
Ground wire behind tail-light may be rusted/corroded

with test light probe...
check for power at tail-light brake light wire (blue or green)

No power ?
continue probing wire toward Turn signal switch
everything runs thru it.
