I have a 1990 F350 2wd Dually /460. I really enjoy driving it and plan to until gas gets too expensive. I'm running singles in the rear for winter. I'm using A/T tires all around. I drive somewhat slowly, and use the brakes lightly. The Anti-Lock light is on. What I've noticed on occasion, when applying the brakes on pavement with a light deposition of loose sand-like dirt, the rears lock up at the slightest touch. This is not a wintertime asset! The brakes don't fade with heavy pressure.
My questions are:
1. Can I bypass the ALU and expect normal pickup truck winter braking behavior? Are instructions available?
2. Are parts available?
3. I have a factory manual to diagnose the problem, but no explanation for the codes. Any help?
4. Not a question - My shop is full for the next month (or more) to get my two 4WDs back working.
