program for the tool room

We're making a program to make it easier to find special tools. My daughter put it on excel. It seems to work ok.

I missed something completely.

The special tools are generally in red plastic cases numbered according to the year the case was introduced. A job may require you to use one tool in a 97 case, and couple it with a tool from a 78 case. This gets complicated when there is no rhyme or reason how they are stored. When a particular job pays 2.3 hours and it takes 1.5 hours to find the tools (if you have them), you can see why this is important.

Ahh...ok. An excel file to catalog them then. I had no clue from the first post. I had to ask.

I am learning to use excel. My gradebooks are in it now and I am using the OLE feature in AutoCAD to imbed (sp?) the files into drawings.

hey brian, I hope you're not learning any of the old versions of excel... the new one is... different, along with every other office program.

Umm...yeah it is. Its 2003 I have on my laptop.

I have seen the new one (weird!), but do not have access to it (yet).
