My niece (12 years old) is going in for some fairly major back surgery tomorrow. I'm a little fuzzy on the medical details, but it's six hours of surgery to remove some extra bits of bone or something...

Anyway, positive thoughts her way would be much appreciated.

I can only give my sympathies man. I was under for 6 hours as well and its no picknick. Anything dealing with your back is a touchy surgery.

positive thoughts sent. my wife went through a long back surgery 5 years ago, she was only 24 or 25. i will tell its amazing what they can do now to the body. she was up walking the same night and actually forced me to bring her home the same day. your niece will be fine im sure

Will do- she went in early this morning, but I don't think they start the surgery until afternoon. She's scheduled for a week in the hospital, and one of her parents can stay overnight at the hospital with her every night.
