This shows how I had to "massage" tubes 5 and 6 to clear the crossmember. The main problem with this was the fact that the headers don`t have a one piece flange. When I went to bolt them up, 5 and 6 had moved away from the head, making them a pita to bolt up. If I wasn`t such a dumb***, I would have placed a straight-edge against the flange and snapped a pic to show this.
Being heat cycled appears to have helped, because they don`t look as bad as I remember. Actually, they came off real easy.
These are the spacers I made (about 3/4") to go between the engine and mount to gain some much needed clearance.
And if I remember right, the passenger side header dropped in.
I do know that when I dropped in the 460 with Hedmans, the exhaust hooked right up with minor (no cutting or welding) persuasion.
And yeah, those 80457`s are good carbs.
