overcharging

ive put two alternators and three voltage regulators on my truck and its stil overcharging any ideas why its still overcharging

A short somewhere in the system can cause overcharging..


What is the voltage at the battery measured with a multimeter?

about 17 to 18 volts

Holy crap... I guess it is overcharging.

All I can think is maybe there is a low level short making the regulator sense low voltage and up the alternator output... Kinda a long shot though.

Someone smarter than me will probably have the answer...
