Just wondering what ya'll think of the Mark LT vs, say, the loaded F-150...

Quieter and nicer.

Quieter? As in interior noise or over all engine sound?

Everything and the suspension must be tuned different as well as the ride is smoother.

Didn't know that. I will do some research now. I've always liked the LT, or the blackwood. :D

A friend has one and I've driven it a few times. It was going to be a possible vehicle when we were looking at the MKT, but at that point they had discontinued it.

Personally, I don't want one, it was for the OL. Next truck for me will be a 450 Harley.

Also nice! If I was to go Harley, though, it would be the first harley F-150.

But I've seen a couple crew 450 harleys that are awesome.

Yes they are, came damn close to buying one a while back but didn't as I was waiting to see what the new engine would be like. I think as it stands now, they have not brought one out with the 6.7.

Plain and simple...

Lincoln>Ford when it comes to quality and ride. That said...WTF is a luxury truck??????? You want car like amenities and a car like ride...get a damn car. I never saw the point in buying a truck and not using it...unless it's a classic restore kinda deal.

I've never been one to abuse a truck, so I can justify having a luxury truck. If I was going to be moving paint and dumping gravel all of the time, I'd buy a beater.

^^^So if you're not gonna use the truck for the intended purpose...what's the point? That's what I was getting at. How do you justify that?

Don't get me wrong...not trying to be challenging, because if you're reasoning is 'I just want a frickin truck' that's cool and dandy...doesn't mean I won't point and laugh at you. I just never understood people buying trucks and not using them, as the current trand appears to be...much less a luxury truck bracket...I suppose that's why the LT died out.

I just want a frickin truck. :D That I might use every now and then to move stuff or tow a trailer. Pretty much, that's where I'm at.

Ben you're a big guy like me. Lets say you only had 2 choices of vehicles to buy.Which would you buy?

1. A well used Yugo ( you will have to remove the front seat just to get in.)

2. A Lincoln Mark LT.

So you're saying you would not buy the Lincoln because it can't be used as a truck? Who says? Maybe not for heavy stuff but lighter things like new Fluffy Pillows for a singe bed(COT) or poodle shampoo to keep things nice and curly or one rose cause a dozen might break the leaf springs. :wasntme:

You've got situations where you need a truck in a household, but don't do any serious work with the truck except for special occasions. The occasional boat tow, throw some furniture in the back to help a family member move to college, etc. At the same time you don't want to have an extra beater vehicle in the garage/driveway and don't want the extra insurance, etc. Maybe a luxury truck is for you?

I drive an FX4, and it's a 'luxury truck' as far as I'm concerned. The fact of the matter is we just need a truck in the family and I'm the only guy with one. Without it our family would constantly be begging other people to borrow.

^^^Point taken Cliff...but that's a bit extreme. I'd guess there would be more than those two options first of all. Secondly, I'd be willing to be if I could afford an LT, a Yugo wouldn't even be on my list. Thirdly, for the same money, I'm sure I could find something suitable that would fit my needs better anyway. The way I see it...you can always rent or borrow a trailer. And I'm sure what you would save in gas and insurance, you could more than pay for the use of the trailer. Might be an inconvenience to some, but it's smart money IMO.

That would describe how I got the dent. We needed a family truck for maybe once a month moving something or towing down the way. The thing never got dirty and was never filled with gravel.
