ok so i had a massive exhaust leak on my truck. one of my manifold downpipes was completely broken off right before the O2 sensor. which would explain my backfiring issue, lack of power, huge fuel consumption and really loud exhaust. so i welded up the exhaust on saturday and now i have a random off and on check engine light. so i did the self test KOEO and KOER. i messed up the KOER test at the beginning but i figured it out after a few seconds. i revved it up to 3K and the test began. and oh what a sight..... well here it is. i will definitely need some help with this one.

KOEO
21 ECT out of self test range 0.3 to 3.7 volts.
24 ACT sensor out of self test range 0.3 to 3.7 volts.
67 Neutral safety circuit failure.
84 EGR Vacuum Solenoid circuit failure.
13 Cannot control RPM during ER Self-Test low RPM check.
34 PFE or EVP circuit above the closed limit of 0.67 volts.

KOER
23 Closed throttle TPS voltage higher or lower than expected.
24 ACT sensor out of self test range 0.3 to 3.7 volts.
41 No HEGO switching detected always lean (right side).
33 EGR valve opening not detected.
73 TPS senor did not exceed 25% rotation during Dynamic Response Test (user error).
25 Knock not sensed during dynamic test.
21 ECT out of self test range 0.3 to 3.7 volts.

[confused] :suspicious:

Ok was the truck at normal operating temps when you started the test?
If not the code 21 is common.
code 67 you didn't push the clutch pedal
if not at operating temp warm it up and retest and post results

OK i had it warmed up and got the codes.

KOEO
67 - Neutral safety circuit failure.
84 - EGR Vacuum Solenoid circuit failure.
and i believe i got a got 334 (after the second cycle of the 67/84 codes)-DPFE or EVP circuit above the closed limit of 0.67 volts.

i couldn't/didn't get any codes for the KOER. i revved it to 3K like i did before when it wasn't warmed up and got nothing. it flickered but thats it. now i did this test a month ago and got the same codes. the neutral safety switch i know is a false code because i didn't have the clutch pushed in. the thing is the check engine light never came on before when i ran a self test a month ago and found the 84 code. but since i welded the exhaust bak up the check engine has been on and off randomly all day. any hints or comments? i know the egr vacuum solenoid is bad because i tested it. so im going to replace that asap. but any other things?

if you have a known bad egr vacuum solenoid replace it and I bet your CEL will stay off. the DPFE it works with the EGR
clean the lines going to the DPFE out they can get plugged and throw a DPFE code.
