Well i have zero PSI on my brand new motor

Just kidding smilieneenar

Anywho in all seriousness... Im wanting to get a dual pod and a PSI gauge for my truck, but i still want my factory one to function. So what can i do to have both at the same time? thanks

Just so you know-- the stock gauge is an idiot light, not an actual gauge. It only shows pressure or no pressure, nothing inbetween.

There was a lot of arguing about this a while back and I finally dug up the wiring diagram for the gauge and proved that it was just on or off.

Just food for thought :)

Im thinking somehow i can get a fitting that is a Y. one area to thread in my electronic psi sender and the other Y to run the tube from.

would be interesting...
Keep us informed i would be interested in the same idea.
What about putting the mechanical gauge where the factory gauge is now?
Would be a royal P.I.T.A. but it would be pretty slick.

As inside the cluster?

People would just say to unhook the electronic guage, but i dont want the needle to not move... Probably freak me out if i saw that it didnt move if i ever forgot i had a mechanical in there lol

Yea i agree with you on that, but i dont see the need in 2 of the same gauges...
The only thing i would have 2 of is a tach and i would mount it on the dash so i could see it easily while looking at the mud infront of me.

it will annoy the hell out of me not having one guage not work.

Mike... Why in the hell would you give me negative rep for post #2? I mean I really could care less about the negative points but it's the principle... I was trying to help you by offering some information that you MAY not have known... How was I supposed to know?

Pretty rude if you ask me...

With some fittings purchased from Lowes I intalled a "T". Arranged it so that the straight through goes to the mechanical gauge in the truck and the sender unit for the dummy gauge is in the "T" so I get true pressure.

tried to do the same thing with my mechanical one...i've had the worst time finding the T/Y though. for now, the stock one is unplugged (has been for months). i'll get around to T-hunting in the spring when it gets warm again

You all do know you can just bypass the resister in the cluster and replace the oil switch with an older type oil sender.
Then you will have the same type oil gauge that the early 1980s trucks had.
That is the way I did my 95.

I take it you are asking about the resister.
