OEM brake controller

Good day all

Is installing a brake controller as simple as plugging in the two plugs that are hanging out in my dash? Is the below OEM module all I need?

That is my understanding...just like the auxiliary switches....but I don't know if the truck would be wired for the trailer connection at the back.

If its a factory Ford integrated controller, the controls go through the instrument cluster. You'll need to disable it with an IDS.

I'm confused - if I'm installing the control, why would I want to disable it?
