NP 435 shifter ?

How close is you alls shifters to the dash ? I'm going to pull this out,
bend it , paint it and reinstall it.

you have one of them too!.. I changed the trans in my supercab around 8 yrs ago and wound up w/ the 'knuckle buster' trans also, told myself I was going to modify it also but it was not being used that much back then and I just used low gear w/ an open hand, pushing it fwd. instead of a closed hand over the top...adaption!!...heck who am I kidding, adapted because I forgot about and never got to change it, but it brings comfort to see another w/ the same 'issue'...I did one handle yrs ago while it was still in the truck, just heated it w/ a torch bent it to where I needed it and repainted it, that one would hit the seat when you went to go into reverse, thus not allowing it to fully engage

I don't have one, but have driven a few and I remember hitting my knuckles a few times.

mine used to look like that, i pulled t out bent it and reinstalled it. it now has a good 3" or so before hitting the dash.

Theres nothing anywhere , that matches the feel of a big gear box manual transmission.
Especially with the granny gear

When it comes to mudding, I'd take an automatic over a standard anyday...

I gotta say that I agree with you Charles...for me it's an automatic over any standard...and yes, before the flaming starts, I've driven lots of standards....hehehehehe.
And Mark....one of the trucks I had with that transmission was pretty much the same as your picture.

I'm not much of one to argue, ( my sister got all that trait, she's an attorney)
Just about everything has good points and bad points.
And I heated it up and bent it a little while ago. Didn't have any paint on hand tho.
