Ok I convinced my wallet that switching to synthetic was worth the added cost for my 6.0. And it is, don't get me wrong. My last oil change I used 5-40 Rotella, it was actually the only synthetic that I could could find in my town. I got it at Wally World.

So lately to ease the burden on oil changes I'll buy one gallon at a time while I'm shopping for other stuff. Now today I go to Walmart and guess what, NO SYNTHEIC!!!! Just an empty spot with a tag under it saying that it was clearanced out for $11.00 a gallon!!!!!!!!! Apparently the guy that saw that deal did the same that that I'd have done, BOUGHT THEM ALL!!!

Now I need to find somewhere else that carries 5-40 Synthetic (I've already looked at quite a few places .

I think Jeff buys his at Walmart. did you ask if they were gonna get more in? Maybe this is one of those things like they went through with the dieselkleen a few years ago and there was a minor change so they sold out before getting the new stuff in.

Kind of helps but I'm after 5-40 Syn not 5-30. Interesting to see that it's made by exxon though.

No way... Rotella does not private lable the Supertech brand of oil(s)... especially not the newest CJ4 5W-40 oil from Shell.

The dino and synthetic Shell/Rotella diesel oil is a full-time regularly stocked item for Walmart - nationwide in the US.

Go and speak to the Manager of the auto department and inquire about it. The diesel 5W-40 (Gallons) is a full-time item at every Walmart I have seen... and some even carry the quarts!!!

Regular price is $17.99/gallon or $19.99/gallon (I can't remember).

I have always been surprised that my local auto parts stores only carry the dino 15W-40 Rotella and not the Synthetic 5W-40... so Walmart has the market due to the high volume they sell I guess.... and at this price... it is great synthetic oil!!!!

My 6.0L loves it.

Even if Exonn-Mobile or any major did indeed make oils for Walmart, I can assure you it is not their latest and greatest formulation. Something has to be left out in order to achieve a lower pricer point and no manufacture would ever risk hurting their "branded" business.

Beach beat me to it. Even if it is made by the same manufacturer does not mean it is the same formulation. AutoZone does carry it as well, don't recall the price tag. If there is a tractor Supply around, I think they also carry it.
