Noob alert

Hello all. Found this site researching a potential purchase and decided to jump right in. I haven't owned a Ford truck for the past 5 years 7 months and 11 days.... Thinking it's time for another.

Here's a pic of my old truck....

It was a basket case when I got it having been pieced together from many other trucks. I enjoyed working it into usable condition and driving it for 10 years or so, but when we moved to AZ I knew it wouldn't pass that state's strict emissions testing so I sold it. I hear it has since been spray painted black....

Here's pics of my potential new truck. By your categorization this is a 5th generation, correct? 1967 Camper Special in fairly original condition. I understand from another forum that it is missing a few things such as correct mirrors, but those will have to wait.

Should have it about 10am today...! Even if the deal falls through I will stick around. Time for a new truck around here. Miss having one for sure!

Welcome! So how did it go? Did it follow you home?

In fact it did! Looking it over it is in fairly good original condition. Paint is original although the guy I got it from felt it necessary to spray paint dark green where the original top coat had gotten thin.... Not sure if I can sand that off or not at this point. He thought it would sell better.. :hammer: I think even the seat cover is original. Speedo reads 65k and the receipts from the original owner circa mid 90's are in the 57k range.

It needs some maintenance which is to be expected.... Fuel gauge doesn't work. Speedo doesn't work. There's a crunchy feel to the steering which I believe to be a bearing in the column up at the wheel. Turn signal won't cancel after a right turn and it won't start unless I pull the shift lever towards reverse (adjustment maybe....?). Oh, and the oil leaks.... Stuff do do over the summer!!
