1996 Ford F-250 5.8l automatic.
Truck has no pick up/power and will not kick down.
From a stop
0-15 mph normal
20-40 mph is a struggle especially on incline. Takes for ever to reach 40. Slight bump/shift at 35 mph. Another shift at 40-45 mph. Once it hit 40 mph everything levels out. Should mention during this speed engine Boggs down and kind of flatters like low on oil. More likely the valves.
40 -65+ mph. Can pick up speed smoothly. Can't pass anyone, but can get to speed. Final shift at 65 mph. From there can run up to 85 mph no problem.
One final symptom. I noticed every now and then at idle the truck sorta shimmy's like not getting enough fuel. I can turn it off and on and it goes away.
Today it started to shimmy and I drove it that way to corner store. I put it in rev with it still shimmying. When pressed gas to rev it bucked, banged and shut off.
Was able to restart with normal idle and get home.
There have been no codes.
