New to this site

Well I am new here also & am glad to see the dent side broncos here instead of in another forum where you have to sift through 100 posts of the newer ones to find anything interesting.

I am running stock 3:50 gears and don’t plan on changing them. The 400 is strong and should pull larger tires good with the stock 4speed. I was thanking going 33X10.50X15?

i have done a lot of work on this from were i statrted. Only paid $750.00 for it.

Cough cough...I still have 3.55's in mine, and with my 400, I can still get a squeal off the line. But yeah, I completely understand...33's at stock height would look really good.

Then why are there more dent owners here? 'smiliepig3'

Thanks for the welcomes, and the nice comments on the Bronco. Also I enjoyed the DOGGING on the wheels and tires. The tires are BF Goodrich TA 30X9.50X15. and yes they are small. But when I bought the truck it had four bald flat tires and these were cheap (150 for all four), I am going to get bigger tires when the budget allows for it.

Since you guys are so knowledgeable and have a lot of opinions – what size would you go with? smiliebeenripped smiliebeenripped

33's won't be enough, but certainly a little better than what you have on there. 35's at the absolute minimum, but 36-38's would probably look the best, proportionate like Ben's Bronco.

Like I say, the Bronco is completely stock with no lift. It has a factory duel shock setup. I am not going to put a left on it because I am not a serous off-roader, though I have done my share. So I don’t want huge tires on it.

I would conceder 36”, may not anything bigger. Will 36” rub the fenders?

Without a lift, the biggest tire you can fit is a 35x12.5...and that's with some fancy rim work...IIRC, backspacing needs to be in the 3.75" department. And even with that, your wheel wells are pretty stuffed, and I'm not a fan of that overly stuffed look. Beyond that, biggest you can really go is 33's without worrying about rubbing.

You don't need to be a serious offroad to put a small lift on it, or any lift for that matter. My rig never leaves tar and it has a 6" lift with 36's. Add a few inches to make that bad boy look right....I doubt mileage would change that much and cost, if you can do the work yourself, shouldn't break the bank, but some of the guys on here can give you a better idea on exact amounts.

I pulled the motor out of this one and replaced it; rebuilt the carb, I also replaced the radiator, redid the front hubs, and installed new carpet, a tachometer, gages, and a whole lot more. But I have not done a lift…but I am sure I can do it.

Money and time is the only thing holding me back. Just by adding taller tires should do something for the look? I will put a study on it. Thanks.

Nice....lots of work, it looks like.

Going from 30's to 33's may not change it a whole lot, 35's might make it look good, but as Ben said, you may have some clearance issues and some rubbing going on.

Yea I have done a lot of work to her. I forgot to say the gas tank was leaking so I just got done replacing it with a new one. i also replaced the the back gate and tried my hand at painting, i thought it came out good.

It has been nothing short of a good time, I love working on these trucks. But I don’t think I will put a lift on it, maybe a leveling kit. So I will chose the tallest tire with out it rubbing the fender.
