Hi all,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I have had long and very good experience with Ford trucks. I have owned several over the years and I have nothing to complain about. I had a 1990 Bronco for about 15 years and that truck never gave me a major problem. It is still running, I sold it to a guy my son works with, and he loves it too.
I just traded a Yamaha Venture 1200 for a 1996 F250 4X4 regular cab a while ago and I knew when I traded that the tranny was bad on the truck. Last week I rebuilt the tranny with the help of a DVD from Bad Shoe Productions and it runs like a champ. It is a C6 and I know that finding a C6 in a 1996 truck is unusual but that's what I have. I know the C6's are bulletproof and the proof is in the tranny I just rebuilt. It had 175000 miles and the only hard part that was broken was the forward cluth spring. All the hard parts looked like brand new and all but the forward clutches looked like I could have reused them.
Anyway although I wish it was an extended or crew cab and that it had overdrive, it runs great and I am looking forward to a lot of fun and adventures in it in the coming years.
