new serp belt (custom)

ok so a few of you know when i rebuilt my motor (inline six 300ci) i took out the a/c system and the air pump system. now no one sells a belt for a ford motor like this. so i had to measure up the pulleys and get a custom length belt. well that was about 2 years ago and the belt i got then was a tad too big but worked for the time. now it is really cracked and oversized from being stretched. today i replaced the belt with a lightly shorter one and it works PERFECT! the engine sound SO much better and a lot less noisier. the belt i used was from a saab or saturn 3.0 liter V6. it is a 6 rib like the ford belts just smaller. its about 79 1/2" long

Sweet deal man! Way to be resourceful. It's even got the gator-back pattern on it, very nice. I had a recurring belt squeal with several different brands of belts. Would be good for a few weeks then it'd come right back. Finally tried a Goodyear Gatorback belt. I'm at somewhere between 1 and 2 years now and it never came back Gatorback rocks.

yeah i did put the reciept and the that measurement in my ford folder i have that contains a lot of the reciepts of stuff ive bought for the truck....i dont dare look at that folder....im almost positive it is almost $6,000....ugh haha i love my truck WAY too much!
