New problem

I was out for a run in the truck today and all of a sudden the speedo started jumping.... like from dead zero to roughly what speed i was going , just up and down like super fast and then when i stopped it but sometimes stay at around 30 when i was stopped dead..... This just started happening. Possible that the speedo gear has some teeth stripped off it or would you think the cable is screwed up ??? just asking before i tear into it ??? this way i have idea where to look first.. also anyone know what cheapest place is either in canada or ships to canada for sheet metal parts ex: floor pans ,cab corners etc etc???

Cable might need lubricating or the gear could be worn...or the cable could be failing. Regarding shipping up here, I would look for a place that is just across the border (USA) and ship there...but given where you are, that would be a drive!..anything that we buy here or get shipped here costs a friggin' fortune.

You should be able to acquire average body panels locally.
ask around at bodyshops where they get their parts.

This issue has usually been fixed by greasing the cable for me. I haven't seen these gears just randomly loose teeth, any I've pulled are pretty uniformly worn.
