looking for info to eliminate the air pump and all the crap that goes with it.
I've got a 97 F350 4x4 w/ 460, it has a problem passing a gas station.
currently replacing the engine, original engine (276k) was gas but with the rod knock it could pass as a diesel. next step is to replace the stock air filter/ intake w/a cold air kit and also replace the stock exhaust including the cast headers. only 1 O2 sensor in the exhaust before the cat. will probably replace the cat with the new exhaust system.
Problem/ question..... if I eliminate the air injection system (keeping EGR and cat) will this effect the reading at the O2 sensor????? if it does, can the settings be changed w/ an aftermarket tuner?
any info would be helpful!
Thanks
