Hi guys. Was able to buy this 52 off a in law. Was my wife’s dad’s truck back in the day.
This winter I installed a new wire harness and extra wires for turn signals. Had to remove and seal the gas tank. Then all the regular maintenance stuff.

Problems I’m having now and trying to figure out (since I’m not a mechanic like my brother but learning as I go and it’s been a fun project)

Backfires when I let off gas and going down grades

Pulls to the left when I break - I replaced the cylinders this winter. Old ones were rusted shut in the front.

Lighting system. Tail lights go out when I turn on head lights
Other lighting issues that may all be intertwined
When I turn on headlights when truck isn’t running they look good on the wall but when I turn the key on they dim way down.

I did try installing a new light switch from Denise Carpenter but the terminal fell off the rivets. Two of them. So I put the old switch back in

Thanks for any feedback on my issues and as a new member I hope I am doing this correctly for the forum.

Welcome to FTF! Beautiful ‘52!!
Back firing when letting off the gas sounds (no pun intended ) like your timing is retarded.
For the electrical, check all your grounds first!
