New Fuel Pump Question for my 1990 F350 460 SuperCab 155" WB

Received my 1990 Factory Manual Set. There is no practical or cost effective way to externally simulate the internal functions of the high pressure fuel pumps!

Does anyone have first hand experience advice with any of the 'thrfty grade' fuel pumps on EBAY? I'd like to hear.

Rock Auto has some pretty good prices generally.

I tried RO. When a card is used, they do some checking and TEXT a number to your phone. Unfortunately, they don't have the right number! Apparently they get the number from the issuer of the card. Called the issuer and they want me to send a video of me making the request! RO is in audio communication dark mode! So, I can't complete an order from RO!

I just got off the a call to the issuer. What a hassle! Even the most simple things since computers has become complex nightmares. It might be fixed. I'm beginning to look forward to EOL!

I called GeekAuto (good name) and the sent me pictures of two different mechanical fuel pumps.

That's odd with RO, never had that happen. Regarding the mechanical pumps, I don't think they will get the pressure you need unless you are ditching the fuel injection.

What I was trying to point out is that you can't trust what these people at the car parts place suggest. Worse the literature provided by parts retailers is sometimes wrong and too often lacks critical parameters.

When I did the fuel pumps in my F150, I ordered them with hangers. It turned out that the pumps were correct, but the hangers were wrong. I had to use the old hangers!

I know what I want for the F350. I picked two domestic manufacturers, called them up and got presumably knowledgeable info from both. I called CARID. I enjoyed a live talk with a salesman. He suggested pumps that were higher in dollars. I told him what I wanted. They were both in stock and are on the way. I paid a premium over RockAuto, but it was worth it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I do feel certain that I've solved my fuel pump acquisition issue. Now I have to schedule some time to install them.

For another project, I need brakes all around for my 99 CV. Now, I must disassemble the brakes to see if I have steel or phenolic pistons before I can order! Go figure!

Definitely can be a crapshoot sometimes on parts. I think I too had the hanger issue you state, as I did the one in the F150 and it will run out of gas with 5 gallon still in the tank. I got a different one because of that which apparently shorted out and smoked my wiring. Going to change the source wiring and put a breaker in line. That inertia switch wiring is such light gauge that it couldn't hold up.

My pumps came FedEx arrived 16OCT24. They're from US Motor Works, and they're beautiful! I'm going to put them on mantle over the fireplace until I get time to install. They come with a connector attached, unlike Delphi where one must reuse the old connector. These pumps reek quality. If they function anywhere near as well as they look, I'll be very satisfied.
