new exaust system?

I have been thinking about getting a new exaust system for my ranger.
I have looked around a bit.. but really have no idea what the diffecene is other than price. I'm looking for a lower end price tag and something that not super loud. One of those easy switch-outs which all I looked at seem to be. Basicly take off old one and put the new one in place with provided clamps and bolts/etc.
I've checked mostly on autoanything.com as they seem to always be the cheapest.
Anybody have a suggestion of one vs another system?

You looking for a particular sound/tone? Which motor do you have in that Ranger?

I'm not lookikng for any particular sound/tone.. nothing too drastic/loud though. I'm wanting it more for the performance and not mcuh for the noise.
It is a 3.0L V6 enigne.. 2000 model

Mine's bone-stock, and original except one spot that's been replaced due to rust.

Big question is: what do you want out of this? Sound? Try to pick up a couple HP? Looks?

You're likely not going to gain much doing a cat-back, if that's what you're talking about.
