Need some help choosing a new carb.

Ok guys I want a new Carb for my truck, I know I want a Holley but I have been looking at new carbs at Jegs and was wondering if any one here has any Experience with any of these carbs.

No but they look like holley knock offs to me kinda like edelbrock and carter.

Don't really have much experience with either carb, but I believe both carbs are pretty good quality, the Proforms are hand built. I don't think you can really go wrong with the Quick Fuel carb, I hear they are a strong/tough carb, and have lots of 'gadgets', mean extreme control for tuning. I do believe these carbs are a little over kill for a street application though. If I were you, I'd just stick with a good ol' Holley.

You can tune edelbrocks pretty good but Ive never messed with hollys so I cant say wether they can be tuned more or not.

You'll never get it tuned properly unless you're a carb pro with all the right equipment. It's not as great as it sounds. The Edelbrocks are plug and play, not that I reccomend E'brock, 'cause I don't, but it's the point of it...

That's kinda what I was trying to get at...sure there's lots to tinker with, but unless you really know what you're doing, it's not a great carb for the shade tree mechanic. Not the type of carb that can be tuned by ear.

Exactly. Look on Craigslist or evil bay and you'll probably see a few 'lightly used' holleys, because the people bought them, but couldn't tune them.

the best thing to do is call patrick at pro systems and pay more to get one that is almost perfectly set up when you get it based on your current combination. they tune parts of the carb you didn't even knew existed.

I can tune a Holley just fine and can tune every single thing on a Holley that can be tuned...
