Need orifice # for EGR valve

I bought a NOS Federal mogul EGR valve that I was told was the correct application for my truck. The ford number that I purchased is E3UE-9D448-A1A. The number that is on the truck now is ford number D8TE-9D475-A1A.

The Federal Mogul EGR valve has a packet full of inlet and outlet orifices, and the one that is currently on the truck had no orifice on either the inlet or outlet passage.

Now my question is: can someone tell me what the correct orifice size is on the EGR inlet/outlet for ford part number D8TE-9D475-A1A?

Application is 1978 F-150. 400 motor. 49 state emissions, non catalytic converter, 2 bbl carb(original 2150).

The old valve is not shutting off completely when vacuum decreases.

Yes, Dennis, I did. Rockauto.com does not list the differences between the two or the actual orifice sizes. Thank You.

Well, right or wrong, I went with the smallest orifice that came in the package, which was a .209 for the inlet, and no orifice on the outlet. I've been having a stumbling problem from a start, but only after the vacuum valve warms up enough to pull vacuum on the EGR valve. The new EGR valve with the .209 orifice solved the stumbling problem. I would still like to know what the correct orifice size is, if anybody has that info.

Maybe try the different sizes and see what effects it has if no one has an answer.

Thanks, Sean. I think I might leave it alone for awhile since problem is solved, and Montana doesn't care about emissions inspections. I took the truck for a short drive this morning, and it ran pretty good, with no mid-throttle ping either.

At least it solved your problem. I don't ever remember actually seeing an egr valve that had choices come with it LOL. Any one that I ever put on a car you just bolted it on.
