Need help with P0118 and P1299 codes.

My name is Rafael.
I'm in Venezuela and I need any help I can get regarding fixing the following codes (P0118 and P1289) the temperature gauge is not working, the scanner gives me a reading of -40o F, and the temperature light is on, the car is a F-150 6 cl 4.6 lt manual.
I would appreciate any advise and of course if ever in Venezuela don't hesitate to get in touch.

PO118 is most likely the coolant temp sensor is unplugged or a bad wire (thats why the -40 temp reading). P1299 is an overtemp condition. Make sure the coolant level is correct, the fan works, and thermostats are operating.
