Need 79' AM-FM Factory Radio Size

Anybody have a Factory AM-FM radio that fits a 79 laying around that could give me some dimensions?
My 79 did not come with a radio but a friend of mine gave me a Ford factory AM-FM radio that looks correct at least the front half.
When I began to install it I ran into a problem. The left side hits the hard plastic duct I think goes to the defroster. It lacks a half inch from going all the way in.
The radio I have measures about 6 inches front to back.
Is this a radio for an 80's model or a car?
What is the correct measurement from front to back and side to side for a 79.

are the mounting points on the front of the chassis (knob shafts) straight across or offset ?

This'll sound insanely stupid, but did you try jimmying the ducting out of the way? Sometimes it'll shift out of place and just needs to be popped back into place...

I can not tell the exact size of the case by the photo. Mine does not have the tape player but the case looks similar in size. Mine is 6" front to back.
This weekend I will get it back in my shop and I will try to shift the duct toward the drivers side. If I could move it over about an inch the radio might go in
