I didn't make it to the shop to pull my codes last night, but I pulled my fuel pressure tester out. When I relieved pressure on the rail through the valve I just get a little bit of gas drizzling out- I thought it should be more of a spray because of pressure? I hooked the tester up, started the truck and couldn't get it to read (mind you this is a harbor frieght tool) so for fun I had my wife start the truck and I pressed the relief valve and gas would come out like an under-powered drinking fountain in little spirts, again shouldn't it spray with some force? And if I am missing some fuel pressure isn't that the opposite of my problem!
I'm still working on my bad mpg problem. Had little fuel pressure, put in a new fuel pump in front tank (it didn't work at all, back pump is weak) solved the lack of power problem, truck runs like a champ.- but I got 4mpg out of my first tank! Pulled codes and am getting 62 and 67, but auto zone abd checker can't find what they mean. I pulled my plugs out to see what they look like- WHITE - no golden or black. any thought? Buy a new truck maybe?
62 (2 different meanings): Key On Engine Off test: 4/3 or 3/2 pressure switch circuit failed open. Continuous member test: Converter clutch error (E4OD).
So if the code was produced while the test was running, the its the first one. But if it was produced while the truck was driving and stored in memory (continuous memory), it's your torque converter clutch.
You can test your TC clutch by getting the truck up to highway speed, then while holding the gas, lightly depress the brake and your RPMs should ramp by 300+ RPMs, then drop back down when you take your foot off the brake. If the RPMs dont change, your TCC is bad.
67 (2 different meanings again): Key On Engine Off test OR Continuous Memory: Neutral safety circuit failure. Key On Engine Running test: A/C circuit was on during KOER Self-Test.
