Hi BuzzGun, the style of cab light is a personal thing. As you know, there are many to choose from. The bulb is what would be your concern, the standard filament type does not hold up to vibration as well and burn out sooner than LED'S. Are you getting the factory Ford wiring harness? The layout for cab lights is either 12" on center (starting from the center of the roof) for the 5 lights, or three close for the center lights and the other 2 at the ends. Personal choice again, or you can keep it original to the specific year. Here's a pic of my install :)

Thanks for the info..Roy...Yes the bulb's are my concern..But i want to stay somewhat period correct for the 79,LED'S probably would take away from this..I dont know..will have to check out some sets and see, definitly want something that will last, for once the Roll bar, light bar is installed in the bed accessibility will become an issue. If i can find a harness sure that would be the way to go..But I am capable of making my own as well..I think i want to operate them independitly from the Park, running lights as well..Pending on the style of light i go with will determine how their placed and spaced using your method of 12" centers. You have been very helpfull..got some thinking and planning to do...Thanks again!!..:)

Since it was a pretty decent Thanksgiving day weatherwise, broke out the truck for a final cruise to friends for Thanksgiving feasting..while i was waiting on the Mrs,decided to set the roll bar in for a preview and test fit.

I think it looks great.

Thanks Buck! It suits the character of the truck imo, Another craigs list lucky find..The 30 + yr old Hickey bar is brand new,The gentilmen bought for his ford..but it never made it in due to an accident...the Roll bar was stored in the attic of his garage and forgotten till several weeks ago when he cleaned it out for sale purpose.got directions bolts still in a sealed package, along with the bar packaging. Im Lovin it!...It realy amazes me what some hang onto for yrs..you never know what may be out there....

I'm usually not a roll-bar guy, but that does look GOOD in your truck. I think the white paint tones down the flash of the chrome.

Agreed Doug...It was a slight risk that i took, for i was concerned that the chrome would overpower the vehicle..Thanks!!
