Well i don't know what prices are around ya'll but right now I'm at around 3.70 and it's sposed to jump up and over 4 bucks by monday....anyways...I've owned this car for about 6 months but haven't had it in my possession but for about 1 1/2 or 2 months......uhhhh it is NOT a ford product I am sorry to say but it was cheap...it needs very little work and hopefully I'll quit spending 135 bucks a week in gas just for work..it's absolutely killing me...that's not counting 20 bucks a week in tolls btw.....anyways it's a 1992 Buick LeSabre Custom with a 3.8 V6 (I think) I'll take some pics...(unless penalized) of before and what it'll look like after...but...at least my truck won't rack up too many more miles...it's at 124,500 right now....I cringe everytime I look....Later

At best you will get 20mpg with that. My xgf's Olds achiva with the 3.1 v6 got like 18 or so. My 5.0 stang gets 19.

Nope- the Buick 3800 will get better mileage than the 3.1. We've had a Olds 98, a Buick Riviera (Supercharged), and two Impala's with that motor. 20ish city, 30ish hwy. Plus, it's a bulletproof motor. Great choice for a DD.

The only thing with the GM's is that damn dex-cool. Most people never change it and it gets all messed up and super gunky. We see it all the time at the shop I work at. Also the intake manifold gaskets are junk on them also. Might not be that year tho. I dont remember.

the dex cool and the gaskets are related, unfortunately. Over time it turns nasty and will eat the gasket out. At any rate, I'd just flush the cooling system and drive on.

FWIW, I see these cars with 2/3/400,000 miles on them all the time. Reliable and durable as the hills.

Yea this one's got 161k on it right now...I had aline on a Bonneville that was SC and i was gonna get it and swap motors...but it had already been crushed.....lol.....I just did a VC gasket and gotta do the other one today as well as the waterpump...shouldn't take too long (knock on wood).....other than that and needing strusts and a few dry rotted vacuum lines...runs like a champ.Chris...I saw that rating on truck trend when i went lookin after they sent me that e-mail...did you get the e-mail?

I have got 30 plus on a 150000 mile bonnievile . Should have kept it for work ride. Course. I know of people getting 25 Plus on crown vics on trips. Lotso room .

I feel the pain of gas prices. Also and finding a extra beater when u need it ,in good shape, for a good ,price and a Ford is hard to do. U r luck to get 2 out of 3 maybe.

Come out to the left coast- older used domestics aren't worth crap, and there's lots of nice "rust free" examples out here. Kid's buddy needs some wheels- found multiple CV's, Marquis, and Town Car's for $800-$1400. Same thing in a Honda or 'Yota would bring twice as much, and be on the backside of it's lifecycle curve.
